Who reads the site
Our readers come here with a specific worry: a search result under their name, a data-broker listing, a scam text, a teenager's first social account, a small business dealing with reviews. They tend to read to the end and act on what they learn. That's the audience you'd be in front of.
We don't publish audience numbers we can't back up. If you want current traffic and audience data, ask through the contact form and we'll share what our analytics actually show, with the date range attached.
Ad formats
- Leaderboard, 728 by 90. Under the navigation and between article sections. It collapses to a mobile size on small screens.
- Square, 300 by 250. In article text after the opening, and at the top of sidebars.
- Skyscraper, 160 by 600. A sticky sidebar unit on desktop screens only.
- Sponsored articles. Written or reviewed by our team and labeled as sponsored at the top of the page.
Ads are served through Revive Adserver. We don't run ads on legal pages or our 404 page, and we keep ads at least a paragraph apart so they never crowd the reading.
What we won't run
People-search services that sell access to someone else's personal data, spyware and "monitoring" apps marketed for secret use, reputation services that promise guaranteed removal, and anything that uses fear to sell. If it contradicts what we tell readers, it doesn't go on the page.
Editorial independence
Advertisers don't see articles before they're published, can't request changes to coverage and don't get favorable mentions for buying space. A sponsored piece is labeled clearly and held to the same accuracy standards as everything else.
